IMPACT Network Announces Clinical Research Focus on Cannabis for Women

DENVER, March 15, 2017 /Weed Wire/ — IMPACT Network, a nonprofit dedicated to Improving Marijuana Policy and Accelerating Cannabinoid Therapeutics, announced their new focus on cannabis for women’s health, as well as several new executive team appointments that will support Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Michele Ross, and newly promoted Deputy Executive Director Susan Parker.

IMPACT Network has centered their efforts on driving clinical cannabis research and education on women’s health, focused on pain, breast cancer, and menopause, with plans to be a sustainable research nonprofit providing $100 million in cannabis research grants annually within 10 years. It is now in a fundraising campaign to cover its 2017 operating budget as well as launch its Women and Marijuana Efficacy Data Set (WMEDS) study.

“IMPACT Network is the first independent research institute to focus on the benefits of cannabis for women of all ages and harness the full potential of cannabinoid medicine to diagnose, treat and prevent conditions impacting women,” stated Michele Ross, PhD. “We are ready to change healthcare with strategic partners in the cannabis, hemp, health care, academia, nonprofit and technology industries.

Two new executive team members have been added to prepare for the exciting new direction and rapid growth of IMPACT Network. Ryan Downs has joined the organization as Director of Fundraising.
